Christ Nagar College, a self-financing institution, affiliated to the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, was established by CMI Fathers, the pioneers in the field of education and social reforms, in the year 2012 at Maranalloor, a sleepy hamlet in Thiruvananthapuram District, just 12 kms away from the city limits. It is a premier institution set on a sprawling campus of 37.5 acres of land enveloped by the bounty of nature. The salubrious and placid surroundings of the college provide a conducive atmosphere for the teaching-learning process. The diligence and dedication of CMI Fathers and the conscientiousness and commitment of the faculty members and the élan and ebullience of the students enabled it to carve a niche for itself within a short while.
At Christ Nagar, along with imparting knowledge, the students are encouraged to emulate the principles of austerity, discipline and truthfulness which have been practiced by St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the inspiration behind the setting up of all the CMI Institutions. To encourage various talents of the students and to inculcate leadership qualities, we have an Arts club, a Sports club and various department associations. We provide recreational facilities to maintain a healthy balance between the mind and body.
Our goal is to provide quality education to the students and equip them to face the challenges of the ever-changing world in which they live today. The teaching-learning process here is learner centred and the students get ample opportunities to brush up their knowledge and give vent to their creativity and technical skills. A family atmosphere of unity, candidness and concern for each other prevails here. Equal importance is given here for extra–curricular activities.
